This is the vtprint home page. VtPrint is a utility you can use to print a file to the printer attached to a local terminal. Since it was originally released, several others have released simple C-shell scripts and even short C programs that emulate the most important functionality of vtprint. My version of vtprint contains several enhancements missing from the most common of these, however, so it may still be worth a download if you print from terminals -- especially oddball terminals that use different escape sequences for printing than the DEC vt100 style terminals. This version of vtprint does require an ANSI C compiler, however
The latest version is vtprint-2.0.2.tar.gz. You may also read the on-line manual page. There is a SourceForge Project Page, as well.
The very first version of Vtprint (originally called "lprint") was written by Garrett D'Amore at the Haas School of Business, U.C. Berkeley. (It was inspired by and is a generalization of the similiar printing feature built into the "pine" mail program.) The version downloaded here is still written by Garrett D'Amore, although it has not been updated for quite a long time. If you have any questions, you may contact Garrett via e-mail at garrett@damore.org.
